  4. Papers can be submitted in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese.

  5. After receiving confirmation of the application, it will take up to 2 weeks to communicate whether it is rejected or submitted to a double-blind peer review process. In the latter case, it may take up to 5 weeks for a final decision of accepted, accepted with changes, or rejected. In exceptional cases where there is controversy, the final decision of the process will depend on a third opinion and the decision of the Lead Editor.

On reviews and PhD theses:

  1. Book reviews with a maximum of 1000 words are accepted.

  2. Critical comments on a work or article that has been published in ENERGEIA are accepted. Maximum 700 words.

  3. Reviews of PhD theses in Economics no older than 24 months and 1000 words maximum.

About the Presentation of the articles:

  1. Papers should not exceed 9,000 words including footnotes, references and appendices. The paper should be submitted in Word and tables, graphs and drawings should be placed on the same page as the citation. Charts, graphs, diagrams and drawings should preferably be in excel or the source should be indicated.

  2. Quotations taken from other authors or texts included in the body of the work should be in Times New Roman font, size 11 and have a left margin of 4 cm and a right margin of 4 cm so that they are centered and in quotation marks.

  3. Pages should be numbered at the bottom right-hand side. Tables should have one numbering and graphs and diagrams and drawings another. There should only be two numberings.

  4. Papers should be finished in letter size, Times New Roman font, 12, and in single line for the body of the text; 2.54 cm margins on all four sides. Always start without indentation.

  5. Footnotes should be written in Arabic numerals at the bottom of the page where they are cited in the text. Try to keep footnotes to a minimum. Tw Cent MT 9 font.

  6. Annexes should be written in Times New Roman 11.

  7. Citations within the main text should be written in parentheses indicating first the author's surname, then the year and then the page. Eg: [Robbins, L., 1932, p.57]. Two authors will be: (Howard and Newcome, 2009, p106). More than two authors will be the first author only (Reddaway et al, 2016, p82). When the page is not specified, only author and year are used, [Shapere, 1977]. Citations indicating a line or paragraph should be indicated with double quotation marks followed by the reference. "And, as I mentioned, economics is built on double-entry and quadruple-entry transactions..." [Schelling, 1978, p75]. For more than one paragraph, the font size should be chosen, but this is reserved to the editor.

  8. If the article contains formulas, they should be in Times New Roman font, size 10 or 11 - depending on the symbology used - in order to be legible, and with centered alignment.

  9. Never write work cited as "op cit", nor "ibid".

  10. Abbreviations and acronyms are used after they are written for the first time and indicating that they will be used in the following. Care should be taken that they are not used indiscriminately but occasionally.

  11. There should be no underlined words, no bold type and no inverted commas except with the indication 7.

  12. All references should appear at the end under Bibliographical References and should be organized by the letter with which the first surname begins and all authors should be listed (no longer use et al) and then the year.

  13. Bibliographical references should be in New Times Roman 11 and should follow the following format (APA standard).
