History and Organization

The Ibero-American Society of Economic Methodology (SIAME) was founded in 2000 with the aim of promoting the study of the methodology, epistemology and philosophy of economic sciences in the Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries of Europe and America. Similarly, the association intends to function as a meeting place that allows intensifying academic relations between economists and philosophers of science in Ibero-America.

The administration of SIAME is carried out by a Board of Directors that is formed by a President, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and at least two Members; These positions are assigned by the Extraordinary General Assembly.

In turn, SIAME is made up of founding, number, institutional and honorary members. To be a partner in each of the aforementioned strata, the requirements stipulated in the current bylaws of the same company must be met.

It is important to mention that, since 2005, the printed version of the International Journal of Philosophy and Epistemology of Economic Sciences (ENERGEIA) has been indexed in the Regional Online Information System for Scientific Journals of Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain. and Portugal (LATINDEX), which was managed by Dr. Eduardo R.
